Yesterday, I had a meeting with Kristian-Alexander von Forselles a 2002 IB Alumni.
It is once again obvious that IB is the key to a future “exciting” education!
He is now in charge for Malmö Fashion Week. You can desgin and sew your own New Years Eve dress with the assistance of him, a fashion designer working in Paris.
Check out his poster on the red IB board outside my office.
Who is Kristian? He traded in his native Sweden for California, at the age of 19. http://artist-portfolio.net/AvonF
He earned his Master’s Degree in Fashion Design at the San Francisco Academy of Art University.
From there, he was sent on a scholarship to study Haute Couture techniques at École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, in Paris France. A school where Yves Sain Laurent and Valentino have acquired their degrees.
After a couple of couture internships and jobs (Dior, Balmain and others), Kristian-Alexander went on to founding his own fashion business A. von F. that specializes in avant garde jewellery, accessories, haute couture clothes and styling. On the client list are several celebrities along with some of the most prominent aristocrats of France and Germany.
In 2010 Kristian-Alexander created a line of evening and bridal wear for the French brand Max Chaoul Couture. Elle Magazine France hailed Kristian-Alexander’s knee-length wedding dresses as a breakthrough, during the summer of 2011. In addition to this Kristian-Alexander does freelance work as a textile designer and teaches fashion design classes.
